Alycia Ernst, MD

Alycia Ernst, MD attended medical school at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and following that completed her residency training at MSU where she served as Chief Resident of the General Adult Psychiatry Program. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. During her time in residency, she conducted original research on the emotional benefits of mindfulness meditation and expressive writing. She is trained in a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities, and often utilizes cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and supportive approaches. She is also well-versed in psychiatric medication-management of mood, anxiety, thought, and trauma-related disorders. She is passionate about providing holistic, individualized care to each person whom she works with. This may include psychotherapy, behavioral approaches, medication, or some combination of these. Her particular areas of interest include women’s mental health (including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders), integrative medicine, and the intersection of spirituality and mental health.
